Lyrics

Today I took my journals out to the barbecue grill
And I lit them on fire, it took the edge off of my chill
And I know it makes my friends cringe
That I've burned all these words
But sadly, I remember still the tragedies that occurred

Page 1: some man putting me down
Page 2: I decided I was still gonna stick around
By Page 3, I'd went and left him
But on Page 4 I'd found more of the same
And these paper boys - oooo joy!
Are all going up in flames

They've been living in a labeled box of memories on the floor
And I don't want them breathing in my house anymore
A musty, combustible mess, that's all they got
Thanks for the firestarter, thanks a lot

There weren't no historical events recorded in these pages
Not much about my babies and their cute little phases
I write when I'm scrambled and mixed up inside
And I'm a Sagittarius and that's a fire sign!
